Mercedes-Benz India is going constantly this year launching products back to back. After the E220d and G63 and GLS 63 AMG models launch this month, the German automaker is now preparing to launch the Mercedes-Benz GLA facelift in India and will be launched on 5 July 2017. The GLA facelift was debuted at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year and gets a number of cosmetic updates and new features.
After the debut of the Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift late last year, the updated GLA gets a number of tweaks without any mechanical changes. Visually, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA gets a revised grille with chain-link chrome elements that creates a bolder and meaner look on the premium compact SUV, while the updated bumper looks sharp and gets bigger air intakes too. Additionally, the updated GLA gets full LED headlamps instead of the previous Bi-xenon units, while the rear gets reworked LED tail lights. The facelifted GLA also gets new alloy wheels.
The interior is almost same to the outgoing Mercedes-Benz GLA. However, the 8-inch infotainment system on the dashboard is all new. For premium touch additional chrome bits are added to the cabin, also subtle changes are made to the instrument console and seat upholstery. The facelifted SUV also gets Active Brake Assist, which signals the driver when a car is too close. There is also a 360 degree parking camera with a bird’s eye view and electric tailgate with motion detection that needs only a foot gesture to open and close the boot.
Furthermore, the Mercedes Benz GLA facelift now sits 30 mm higher than the current version. Engine options won’t get any changes on the GLA facelift, so expect the 2.1 liter diesel and 2.0 liter petrol engines to power the SUV.
