Lexus has made its SUV portfolio wider by adding their entry-level SUV, the NX, to the existing RX and LX SUVs. NX is being showcased first time in India.
The NX is based on the new MC platform and has some components similar to Toyota’s highly successful RAV4 SUV. It adopts the present day edgy styling that is present in all new Lexus cars marked by the large spindle-shaped mesh grille in the front. The busy contoured fascia gets swept back headlamps and LED DRLs. On the sides, the bright contours remain same while the flared wheel arches gibe it the needed muscle. The prominent should line reaches to the boot and is highlighted by the wrap-around tail lamps.
As far as the interior is concerned, the Lexus gets contoured center console and a number of switches and buttons. The NX is luxurious and therefore the supreme quality leather upholstery is standard. Steering mounted audio controls, large display screen and three zone climate control are standard. The Lexus NX is small but there is sufficient space for all the 5 occupants inside and front seats are power adjustable that makes driving comfortable.
The Lexus NX will be available in the 300h setup which is hybrid. It will be available with a 2.5-litre inline four cylinder petrol engine that works in consonance with an electric motor with a combined output of 194bhp of power and comes mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. The NX will be offered in two trims – the F Sport and Luxury and we can expect a price tag of Rs 60 lakhs to Rs 65 lakhs.
