2017 Isuzu MU X India Review – Exterior Design

Isuzu MUX’s nose is similar to the D-Max V-Cross. Front and front bumper, however are slightly different. India spec MU-X is the pre-facelift model. The exterior changes are few, but worthy. They include brighter new Bi-LED projector headlights on all models, country owners will find it helpful. There are also new 16 or 18 inch alloys depending on spec that actually enhance its SUV look. It is more handsome and rugged product that most.

2017 Isuzu MU X India Review – Interior Design

Interior has huge resemblance to the V-Cross and Trailblazer. The center console includes a touchscreen unit with vertical AC vents on either side. Right below the touchscreen, there is a circular setup for the automatic climate control. Unlike the Trailblazer, the instrument console of the MU-X is a lot simpler looking. The India spec model will be having dual-tone ivory-grey interiors. It has seating capacity of 7 people and features leather seats.

Even with all 7 seats in place, there is enough luggage space. According to the manufacturer the last or 3rd row seating comfort was given highest importance during the development of the MU X. According to the claims made by the manufacturer, the seating comfort of 3rd row is way better than competition.

The MU-X’s nicer dual tone cabin trimming includes many soft-touch contact points and better plastics, in addition new infotainment screens are included.

The new screens measure 7-8 inches depending on the specification, and all have rear-view camera displays. Satellite navigation is a standard feature is all variants but the base LS-M. The closing lid on top of the dash is also updated; however the new one is still fiddly.

Every variant of MU-X has got seven seats, six airbags, ISOFIX anchors, Bluetooth, three USB points (this time one is given for the middle row occupants), three 12 V outlets and a full size spare wheels.

The costlier LS-U adds the 8.0 inch screen with sat navigation, new 18 inch alloys, side steps, chrome exterior highlights, vents for all three rows in the roof and privacy glass.

Cabin space has always been one important asset for Isuzu, the large boxy body making it a genuine 7 seater unlike the competition, with lots of outward visibility and a nice folding seat mechanism to access the last row. Safety features in the SUV include traction control, ESC, EBD and ABS and rear parking camera.

Isuzu recently showcased a facelifted version of the MU-X internationally. It will have larger 18 inch wheels, a six speed automatic gearbox, a higher torque rating of 430 Nm and an 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system. However, the one launched in India is the pre-facelifted model.

In terms of pricing, the Isizu MU-X significantly challenges the Endeavour and the Fortuner with prices for the two starting at Rs. 28.26 lakh and Rs. 26.63 lakh, respectively, for the entry level 4×2 diesel variant. It is available in 4×2 and 4×4 variants.
