The EcoSport compact SUV is one of the most successful models for Ford India. It was highly responsible for the compact SUV segment in our market. But with the launch of new models like Maruti Vitara Brezza, sales have been affected. Ford unveiled the 2017 Ford EcoSport last year. It has updated interior and exterior. Here we will be comparing, the upcoming new model EcoSport with the existing one to know how they are different.

Designers have made huge changes to the nose of the car. The facelift has got a new single piece grille, new bumper and new headlamps. Foglamp enclosures are also new. The new headlamps has got projector units and LED daytime running lamps. Overall, the new look is lot more in line with Ford’s current design language. The side look of old and new cars are almost same, except the alloy wheel design is there is new facelift model.
Even the changes in the back are negligible. The US-spec 2017 Ford EcoSport doesn’t have the tail gate mounted spare wheel and the number plate has moved up to take its place. But, for Indian market this is not the case. So, 2017 model will have the same rear as the current model. However, there will be a dual tone real bumper and a new wheel cover.

Ford EcoSport Old vs New Model- Interior Comparison

The cabin of the new EcoSport has got major updates. Apart from the door handles, and the AC vents on each end of the dashboard, everything else looks new. There is a new center console with a centrally mounted floating touchscreen. The vents for the AC and the auto aircon controls are also new. The dashboard on the front features a grab handle. Other new things include a new instrument cluster and multifunction steering wheel. In terms of seating and space, the cabin of the 2017 EcoSport is same as the current model.

Ford EcoSport Old vs New Model Comparison Verdict

The launch date for Ford facelift India launch are not sure. Our guess is that the 2017 Ford EcoSport India launch will take place in the second half of 2017. The facelift model gets a new nose and a lot better interiors. It will probably attract more buyers.
Design: The new model is sportier. The dashboard is all new and lots a lot better now.
Features: There will be a number of new additions to the features list like a touchscreen AVN.
Specifications: We are not expecting that Ford will make huge changes to the engine lineup.
Cost: Prices are expected to be slightly more, but still the model will be competitively priced.
