Pictures of Renault’s Sport Megane have leaked before its official debut and unlike the previous shots, this car was not at all disguised.
When the car will be introduced, it will be available with four-wheel steering and two chassis options. In the standard variant we will see a “Sport” chassis which will be tuned for tarmac, a stiffer ‘Cup’ chassis will be more track-biased. According to Renault, the four wheel steering will be a standard feature and it is expected to increase agility.
The new Megane RS will use a 1.8 liter turbocharge 4-cylinder engine that will produce more than 300 bhp. It is expected to get either a 6-speed EDC transmission or a manual gearbox depending on the market. If reports are to be believed than it will quicker than the Honda Civic Type R.
The new Megane RS will use a wider track and sit lower by 25mm, so its grip on the road will be a lot better than the current model. Probably it will be launched internationally in 2018 after its public appearance at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
