The new-gen Renault Duster, which is retailed as Dacia Duster in Europe, will be unveiled on the 22nd June, 2017. Seemingly, Renault’s sister brand Dacia will unveil the second-gen Duster SUV at a special event in Paris, while the car will be officially debuted later in September, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. It is believed that the new-gen Duster could be made on Renault Nissan’s new CMF-B platform. But, it will be confirmed only after it will be officially unveiled.
The outgoing Renault Duster a.k.a Dacia Duster is made on the B0/Logan platform, which will be seen in the upcoming Renault Kaptur too, which is expected to be launched in India this year. The new-gen Duster on the other hand, is expected to be launched in the second half of 2018. Upgrading to the CMF-B platform also means that the new Duster will get better hardware and an increased price tag.
From the recent spy images of the new Duster, it looks similar both in terms of dimensions and design outline. But all the heavy camouflage and design indicates that the new Duster will get better styling cues and a number of new features like: new front and rear bumper, LED daytime running lights, projector headlamps and more. Similarly, the changes made to the interior of the new Renault or Dacia Duster still remain unknown but we can expect to see upgraded and improved interior with many new comfort features. We can also expect to see features like ESC (electronic stability control), ABS and airbags are standard features.
There are rumors that the new Duster might also get a 7-seater version along with the standard 5-seater version. However, it is not yet confirmed. Under the hood, the new Duster might come with a upgraded 1.6 liter engine which will give improved power and be more efficient and clean too. There may be an option of a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine too.
